Web Design Portfolio

Seasons Site:

This site is the first hard coding I have ever done. I make it cohesive with the box at the top staying in that position and size with the titles of each season inside of them. The tabs stay the same and there is a line below the tabs to create a more convenient and easy to use function. There are images for each page and div’s, links, headers, image sizing through photoshop, and various other coding strategies were implemented that meets the requirements of the assignment.

Author Website:

The second assignment is devoted to the legendary author Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I was fascinated by the book cover designs and images other images associated with his work and wanted to make them stand out so I made the rest of the website black and white. This also adds sophistication that fits with his demeanor (the expression he gives) in pictures. Theres also a video, a gallery, links to his sites and as images directing to amazon, and many other functions. The descriptions show you his work and life.

Website Redesign:

This project was about transforming a inefficient website into a function, visually stimulating, and easy to use site. To represent this spa I made it relaxing through pleasing images, mellow colors like warm oranges and peaches, and convenient links that scroll to an aspect of the single page. There are buttons for when to book or cancel an appointment, a footer with links, various categories like an image showing the workers (made in photoshop) and important aspects of the business like the Spa-Ah Club. The original site is so small and confusing with all of the links at the top of it so made sure to add in all the information in a way that’s easier to look at. Dreamweaver was used.

Portfolio Site:

Using WordPress I coded and customized a theme to make my own original website featuring my art. I created the logo and wanted pink and green to be the colors emphasized in my site. Each project I’ve done is clickable with a description, dimensions, and a larger view of the image available. I wanted to bring out who I am as an artist which is someone who tries to draws people attention through visual elements and add a playful spin into my work that shows my enthusiasm when it comes to design. Various coding was used in the footer, changing the color of the text to white in specific areas, and I customized all if not a majority of the theme to make it my own. The image on the homepage is a collage of me I’ve created.

Landing Page:

This landing page is meant to attract and persuade visitors to donate to the Pregnancy Support Center in New Paltz. I decided to draw attention through the use a picture of a women looking overwhelmed and the second thing that catches your eye is the donate button that complements her shirt. The slogan and description also are tools to persuade the observer for a call to action.
